Mikhail Kolker - Mikhail began fencing in his native Kazakhstan in 1975, where he was a member of the Kazakhstan Junior National Fencing Team. Through-out his professional fencing career Mikhail competed in numerous national and regional competitions, earning him the highest USSR athletic recognition. His experience and success drove him to become an accredited coach in Épée and foil. Since 2000, Mikhail has continued coaching and fencing nationally in the United States where he earned an "A" rating. He is the current veteran's Épée champion in the New England Division. His students compete frequently in national and regional competitions. During his lessons Mikhail not only concentrates on the physical and mental aspect of the sport but also gives insight on the art and history of fencing such as honor, pride, hospitality and responsibility.
